Guilin is a prefecture city in the northeast of the Guangxi Provice, China, situated on the west bank of the Li River, its name means, “Forest of Sweet Osmanthus”, owing to the large number of fragrant Sweet Osmanthus trees located in the city. The city has long been renowned for its scenery of karst topography, the city center is surrounded by two rivers and four lakes and studded with sheer sided karst hills, with the verdant vegetation ranging from bamboos to conifers together with crystal clear waters and wonderful caves make the city such an appealing destination.
